About Pardellarts.com

The Pardellarts Value Statement

Rather than have a mission which usually mandates some type of effort or action the Pardellarts community is built on a set of base values, which all members must pretend to honor, even if they are contrary to your own private value system.  To make the values way easier to rember than the ten commandments, they are organized in a snazzy vertical composition poem:

P - People.

A - Art.

R - Respect:

D - Dedication,

E - Empowerment,

L - Life,

L - Liberty!

You Made That Up?

Workaday Stiff? Work-a-day Stiff?  Well, I thought I made it up, until a simple Google search revealed 16,400 references.  Once again the web is the ultimate "check yourself" for the creative mind - revealing in fibre-optic speed that if you have an interesting idea, chances are someone else has had that same idea, and has already bought the domain name and has a crappy blog about it.

By Workaday Stiff I am referring to people who work and maintain creative exploits outside the constraints of commercial viability. Wait, I said that already.  This group includes but is probably not limited to:

  • Professional artists, architects, designers, engineers who make cool stuff on the side.  You know - that project you think about when work is boring.
  • Stay at home and working mothers who manage to keep it all together and paint the occasional landscape, or write the occasional love song.
  • That pretty much covers everyone.  If you don't identify, send me an email and I might even post your grievance.  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Dedicated to the Workaday Stiff

Welcome to pardellarts.com, a website created by Ben Pardell to showcase the incredible talents wielded by his friends and family. It is very much a work in progress. While a few of the artists to be featured here are full time professionals in their field, this site is truly dedicated to the Workaday Stiff  who keeps a day job or raises a family and still scrapes together enough spare time to make art outside the constraints of commercial viability.
